Regional Group Appoints New Chair

Jun 12, 2013

The Burnett Mary Regional Group for natural resource management has appointed Lindsay Cunneen to replace Dr Evelyne Meier as Chair following a General Meeting held on Thursday June 6.

Mr Cunneen became a Board director in November 2011 and will now hold the Chair’s role for a period of up to twelve months.

BMRG’s Deputy Chair, Mr Anthony Ricciardi says that Mr Cunneen’s skill set and experience are well suited to building strong relationships with the community and encouraging open and inclusive involvement in managing the region’s natural resources.

“As a prominent local Rotarian and a retired school principal with 40 years’ experience, Lindsay has the leadership skills and considered approach that will unite the Board, management, staff and stakeholders of BMRG and an understanding of what is needed to ensure that BMRG’s work in areas such as flood recovery and delivering on regional priorities is managed effectively.” Said Mr Ricciardi.

The Burnett Mary Regional Group was recently announced as one of several groups involved in the roll out of a joint State and Federal Government Disaster relief program to support landholders in recovery from the impacts of flooding.
