Better Catchments
The Better Catchments program has been created to assist the Burnett Mary Regional Group to deliver on-ground projects in partnership with landholders. Funding incentives are provided to landholders to adopt land management practices that will improve soil health and enhance sustainability. On-ground incentives focus on improving sustainability of farming and grazing practices, to improve soil condition, enhance carbon content of soils, and reduce the risks of soil erosion and soil acidification. Better Catchments is funded by the Australian Government and contributes to the Sustainable Farm Practices target.
The Better Catchments program is delivered via workshop training, and only participants who attend workshops are eligible to apply.
