‘Reconciliation through celebration’ is the key objective of the free festival for all to come and see the cultural heritage and practices of our First Nations people whilst celebrating together.

This week, event organisers Gidarjil Development Corporation announced that Miiesha will be headlining the festival which is being held on October 2 and 3 at the SES grounds in Seventeen Seventy.
Miiesha is an Australian singer-songwriter from the small Aboriginal community of Woorabinda, Queensland. She won New Talent of the Year at the National Indigenous Music Awards 2020.

The 1770 Cultural Connections Immersion festival is welcoming to everyone with the purpose of driving reconciliation through education and coming together in a 2 day festival of our First Nations People through song, dance, cultural performances, guest speakers, parliamentary dignitaries and more.

Gidarjil Development Corporation held the inaugural 1770 Festival in 2020 with a crowd of 1600 people over 2 days.
The event was a great success and a key component of driving reconciliation through education and engagement with the First Nations People of the region and white Australians.
