BMRG and Gidarjil Development Corporation were delighted to host Minister for the Environment the Hon. Sussan Ley on Sunday 13 December.
Minister Ley came up to Bargara to personally deliver a very important announcement of $6.1M Federal funding through the Reef Trust.
This funding is to deliver on projects improving water quality flowing from the Burnett River Catchment to the Great Barrier Reef.
Tony Ricciardi one of the BMRG directors and Sheila Charlesworth BMRG CEO welcomed the Minister and her team on arrival to the BMRG offices located in the Ag-tech Hub in Bargara.
Brent McLellan from Gidarjil then opened the proceedings with a very heartfelt Welcome to Country in his First Nations people’s language whilst translating for everyone.
Professional, passionate and engaging presentations were delivered by BMRG and GIdarjil from Sheila Charlesworth, Cathy Mylrea, Nick Maclean, Kevin Bowden, Dr Kerry Blackman, Saranne Giudice and Angela Huston.
The seamless shift from one showcase location to the next coupled with the outstanding professionalism/teamwork, clearly demonstrated the authentic collaboration and close working relationships between both organisations.
The work we do collectively across both organisations is safeguarding and protecting our natural resources in this beautiful country of our First Nations People for all future generations to enjoy together.
