Empowering Adaptive Graziers in the Burnett Mary

The Burnett Mary Regional Group (BMRG) is excited to announce the “Empowering Adaptive Graziers in the Burnett Mary” project. With a funding amount of $1.1 million, this project will run for two years and is part of a suite of projects being delivered by BMRG as part of a drive towards sustainable agriculture in the Burnett Mary. The project will support graziers to increase their capacity to adopt best management practices and systems, helping to improve their business and exceed regulated standards. The project aims to increase the productivity, profitability, and resilience of farm businesses, while helping to reduce fine sediment and particulate nutrient flow to the Reef. Extension, personalised coaching, tools, and resources will enable graziers to progress towards increased ground cover and improved land condition, leading towards sustainable businesses.

The Empowering Adaptive Graziers in the Burnett Mary project delivered by BMRG is part of the $6 million Grazing Practice Change Program funded through the Queensland Government’s Queensland Reef Water Quality program.
